Dough Mixers FAQs
What types of dough mixers and equipment do you stock?
We stock fork mixers (Mecnosud, 25–80kg capacity), spiral mixers, dough sheeters (single and double pass), fondant sheeters, dough rounders, moulders with interchangeable pressure plates, and dough rollers (Somerset, 28–64cm diameter). Our range covers every stage of dough preparation from mixing through to shaping.
What should I consider when choosing a commercial dough mixer?
Match mixer capacity to your daily production volume — most operators choose a mixer that handles their maximum batch comfortably without overloading. Choose fork mixers for artisan bread and pizza where gluten development and dough temperature matter; spiral mixers suit higher-volume, faster production. Also confirm power supply (single or three phase) and bowl size relative to your batch weight.
Which brands of dough equipment do you carry?
We stock Mecnosud (Italy) for fork mixers — known for robust build quality and all ball-bearing construction — and Somerset (USA) for dough rollers, sheeters, rounders, and moulders. Somerset is one of the most respected dough processing equipment brands globally, used in professional bakeries and pizzerias across Australia.
Do you deliver dough mixers Australia-wide?
Yes, we deliver nationwide. Smaller benchtop sheeters and rounders ship via standard courier. Large fork mixers and floor-standing units are freight items delivered via CFS, Northline, or PFM. All units include manufacturer warranty — Mecnosud units carry 12-month on-site warranty. Contact us for delivery estimates and installation guidance.
What is the difference between a fork mixer and a spiral mixer?
Fork mixers use a single slow-moving arm that gently folds dough, mimicking hand kneading. This produces lower friction and keeps dough temperature cooler — ideal for artisan bread, sourdough, and pizza dough where quality and texture are paramount. Spiral mixers use a fixed spiral arm and rotating bowl to mix faster at higher volumes, suited to high-output bakeries where speed and efficiency take priority over artisan characteristics.
